Hello to all!
The other day I went shopping and made an amazing discovery: coats. I know, I know, coats have been around for ever, but I have never until now discovered how rewarding it can be to shop for coats. I always sort of neglected this category. Coats were for me just a means to keep me warm. I never really fully appreciated their amazing beauty, their wonderful qualities. Never until yesterday… And let me tell you, it was an amazing, completely life altering discovery. There it was, this whole new shopping wonderland, right in front of me, and I had foolishly ignored it all along.
How could I have ignored these beautiful creatures that can make you feel so tall, so slim, so pretty, so sophisticated… You never have to go up a size, they never make you feel fat… You know, they are sort of like shoes, except better. Many people will ignore your shoes, and the impact shoes can have on an onlooker is minimal. But a coat, now you’re talking. A coat will be the first thing that anyone will notice. A well tailored, expensive looking coat will tell everyone how wonderful, fashionable, and sophisticated you really are. So then I ask you, why do people generally ignore them? And I know it wasn’t just me ignoring these wonderful creatures. Have you not noticed that most people wear 2- tops 3 coats a season? Most just keep wearing the same one 95% of the time. It is said, really. Why do we change everything else so often, but not our coats? Well, I say no more! I just bought the first out of hopefully many wooonderful coats. I almost, almost…bought two. But I might just go back today and get the other one. When I left the store it was staring at me off the rack, like an abandoned little puppy… So sad…
Why now? I am not sure. Maybe it was the 75% Off clearance sign that attracted me in the store in the first place. As an avid shopper, I do love a great deal. And, lets be serious, who can resist a big, bright, red 75% Off sign. I mean, they are practically throwing it at you… They are giving you a present (in my case the discount was like a $100 present), and how can anyone refuse a present? It would be just plain rude. Right?
